Yep... my heart... shattered! I cried in anticipation of crying some more next week.

I think Izzie called Cristina a robot because that is her medical 'nickname' if you like, George has called her a robot and I think a few other characters have referred to her in the same way before too... I don't think they mean it literally, just that she isn't overly emotional and unprofessional when it comes to things like that. She can put aside emotion and still do her job extremely well. I don't feel bad at all for Cristina, if one of my friends had just found out they only had a 5% survival rate from a devastating illness that was going to kill them quickly and painfully and they wanted to confide in me I would be more than willing to 'keep their secret' for as long as they need to be able to process it. Obviously Izzie needed to tell SOMEONE and seriously, in that position who wouldn't need to tell someone, and with no family around her options were limited. I totally understand why she told Cristina and I think Cristina would totally understand too. This is a whole lot more than just Izzie being self absorbed and piling her shit onto someone else. This is a world (and life) ending diagnosis and I think the way Cristina handled it showed that she totally understood and accepted that Izzie had something more to tell her than just gossip.

Of course... just my humble opinion.

I should not have said I feel bad for Cristina. I like the way you explained why Izzie picked Cristina... I agree. That scene was done really well.

I am actually going to re-watch the episode so I can really analyze it better.

I just hope Shonda does not crap up this storyline in the end. You know she is known to run with stuff and not really give it the full 100% it needs. She always leaves loose ends.

See you back here next week to discuss the next episode.

Ha! I've watched it twice now and I've cried twice! I am such a sook! Hope you like the second viewing!

I will definitely be back next week... oh... hey, coz I am Australian and we are so far behind and I had to download the episode there was no 'next week on Grey's' section... what was in the promo if you saw it?

And I agree with you totally on Shonda's propensity to eff things up when there is such potential, and I totally believe that there is loads of good potential with this. Not just with the Alex/Izzie relationship but with how it is handled by EVERYONE.

- Lexie finding out that she diagnosed Izzie...
- Alex obviously...
- Cristina and how she handles Izzie telling her first...
- Meredith and how she interacts with Alex will be interesting I think...
- Derek as I'm sure he will have to operate on her at some stage...
- Bailey...she may have to operate too, as Izzie has mets in her liver... probably the Chief too...
- George...
- Maybe even Callie...

Loads of potential. Please don't stuff it up, Shonda.
