This whole thing captures Alex's current state of existence so well... he's not exactly miserable, but not happy (I don't think I've ever saw Alex at a point where I could call him truly happy and I kind of love that). I like that the Izzie thing isn't so obviously torturing him anymore and that he's beginning to look forward.
I also love how you've written Alex & Addison's relationship and that Alex's kind of admiration for Addison is apparent as well as the fact that she is there for him and that she seems to ache for him in some capacity.
Boy, I sure hope this makes sense & that it was some of what you were going for lol. Also, if I haven't stated it enough -- I LOVED it, but that's a pretty common thing with your writing, especially when you write Alex.
