This is lovely! I adore the (relatively) easy affection/understanding Meredith and Alex have with one another and you capture that perfectly.
I love these lines: She hides her initial panic well. He tries not to think about why she's so practiced in the art these days. That's so very Meredith and I think Alex is one of the few who easily sees through it every time.
