So,
citron_presse inspired me to actually complete this...

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."
1. I own the cutest dog in the WHOLE ENTIRE WIDE WORLD... (and the Universe). She can pretty much do whatever she wants and I let her because she finishes everything naughty with her head tilted a little and a look on her face that says 'you can't possibly think that I made that mess'...
2. I have lived on 4 continents (Africa, Australia, Europe, North America) and have visited Asia. Also, some winter days here in Tassie, I'm pretty sure I get close to Antarctica! My favourite places in the world that I have so far visited are Luderitz (Namibia), Big White (Canada), Lauterbrunnen (Switzerland), Fraser Island (Australia), London (England), Paris (France), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Phi Phi Island (Thailand)... okay, so I pretty much LOVE everywhere that I go!
3. I can speak Afrikaans, which... in the scheme of languages to know... is virtually at the bottom of the list titled 'most helpful'. I managed to pick most of it up whilst living in a share house inPakistan Leyton, London with NINE South African BOYS and just ME and they DROVE ME MENTAL!!! I then picked up some more while I was living in Cape Town.
4. I am qualified to teach skiing in Canada. This is not helpful because I live in Tasmania. SKIING IS THE SINGLE MOST AWESOME THING THAT I HAVE EVER DONE (sorry for the caps but, THAT is how excited it makes me...).
5. I LOVE TO READ. I will pretty much read ANYTHING. The newspaper, Ayn Rand's 1200 page 'Atlas Shrugged', the back of the shampoo bottle, I even read a Mills and Boon book that I found in the bathroom at Melbourne Airport (in my defence, we were sleeping there for the night - because we were backpackers and therefore toooooo stingy to get a hotel room for the few hours of our overnight stopover, and I was BORED!). I do not recommend Mills and Boon books (unless you are stuck in an otherwise closed airport for 8 hours).
6. I have played 14 different sports competitively: netball, athletics (sprint distance running, long jump and triple jump), long distance running, triathlon, cycling, gymnastics, soccer, cricket, sailing, equestrian, badminton, tennis, swimming, skiing. Netball was for the longest, 17 years. At the moment I am doing triathlon, cycling and long distance running.
7. I have a sister who is 4 and a 1/2 years younger than me. We look so freakishly the same and sound so freakishly the same that we are often mistaken for each other, or... even more oddly, mistaken as the same person. To emphasise this point... her boyfriend of THREE YEARS kissed me accidentally the other day (not on the lips, THANK GOD!). It was HILARIOUS!
BONUS! I got a part athletic/part academic scholarship for college. The school was catholic, and while I am technically catholic (due to my parents baptising me, etc), I am an athiest. I once started an essay at the aforemention catholic college where I had been granted a scholarship with this... My belief in God has developed somewhat along the same lines as my belief in Santa Claus...
I do not recommend doing this...!
And there you have it... for those still reading, I hope I was vaguely interesting!

Date: 2010-01-26 03:30 am (UTC)What did you do when you lived on Fraser Island? Surely the only thing to do there for work is tourism...?
Hahah, I will read anything too. I used to read the cereal boxes while eating, both English and French (and count the number of words it took to say something in English versus French).
I suck at most sports except riding and swimming. :D You sure are multi-talented!
LOL @
Have you seen the movie Religulous? When Bill Maher was being interviewed about it, they asked him how he came up with the title. He said, "It's a combination of the words religion and ridiculous. I made it up... sort of like religion in the first place!" :D
I've been tagged twice for this so I guess I really should do it, even though I recently posted TWENTY FIVE facts about myself, if you recall!

Date: 2010-01-27 10:26 pm (UTC)Religulous? I think I need to see that!!!
And yeah, you really should do it! Plus, I think I missed the 25 facts thing... I don't remember that... I will go suss it out!
