It is highly likely that this post will make very little coherent sense. I only finished watching a few minutes ago.

I think I am in shock. Actual, clinical shock.

Did you know it is possible to develop PTSD and Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) from watching televised tragedies? True Fact. This may be important to remember in about a months time when we all wind up in therapy.

Alex and Lexie? Alex and Lexie.

Mark? Promising to eat more bacon. Mark, I take back every last nasty thing I've ever said about you. Every last goddamn syllable.

Alex and Izzie? SHIT man. Way to punch me in the gut just when I thought I was over you...

Meredith and Cristina? You girls are fucking rockstars. Don't ever let anyone tell you differently.

April? You, you made me BAWL. I was fine 'til you started up with your personal facts!!! I was a snivelling wreck from that point onwards.

Bailey and Percy and Mary? I sobbed. Noisy, snotty, ugly sobbed. Had to press stop for a while to regain my composure. Bailey telling him that yes, he's gonna die now? Oh Bailey. Usually I am not a fan of you when you're all angsty and crying. Not tonight. No siree. Tonight, the way you composed yourself before going back to Charles to tell him? That was you being awesome.

Percy and Reed? Percy, I was ambivalent about you until tonight. I didn't think I cared if you lived or died. You were brave. Reed did indeed miss out (too bad she copped one between the eyes and will never know... shame). RIP.

Derek? You were good tonight. And trust me, that is a compliment.

Richard? That was actually a pretty great ending. The booze and the bullets. I liked it. It was kinda obvious and I knew you weren't gonna die, but the writers gave you some good stuff. Say thank you to them.

Teddy? I respect you and your diversonary tactics. You were the bigger person in that situation. Go make babies with Mark Sloan so he stays away from Lexie.

Owen? Blah. Whatever.

Arizona and Callie? Blah. Whatever.

And last but not least?
Mr. Clark? Thank you. Thank you and thank your superstore purchased handgun and box of 'ammo'. Thank you for creating carnage that tore people apart and superglued them back together in the span of two hours. It made for fucking awesome television so... thank you.

I actually was not surprised by anything that happened last night. Once you knew who the shooter was (and I was spoiled on that) it was easy to put the pieces together as to what was going to happen. That said, I was kind of sad for Mer having a miscarriage-but even that was pretty much a given b/c of Shonda's 'no bebeh' policy.

I was really and truly disappointed. I felt that it was predictable and contrived. Sandra Oh deserves an Emmy, but I felt everything else was crap. I actually was rooting for the shooter to kill Lexie! I'm like...you shoot Owen, but you can't spare a bullet for the girl who unplugged your wife? WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES!!!!

I love Alex, but I think he can do so much better than Little Lexie Sunshine. I hear Cristina is single...;)

I wasn't surprised either... I knew everything that was coming (except for the miscarriage, but yeah... predictable). Still loved it though.

I don't think it was predictable that Bailey would hold Charles' head while he died and tell him that he's brave and that Reed missed out on him...

I dont think it was predictable that April would reel off personal facts about herself, including the heartbreaking fact that she believes she's never been loved, to stop the guy from shooting her...

I don't think it was predictable that Meredith would stoically announce that she's having a miscarriage while she tends to Owen...

I don't think it was predictable that Alex would ask Mark not to kill him and to advise him to eat more bacon and have more sex...

I don't think it was predictable that Meredith and Derek would finally and completely 'click' as a functional couple that truly do love each other...

I don't think it was predictable that April would say to Meredith that Reed was her best friend and therefore she does get to cry today...

And I think it is all those unpredictable moments that totally and utterly sold the episode to me. I knew who was getting shot, I knew who the shooter was, I knew who would live and who would die. For me that wasn't what this was about... it was about all the little moments in between that I didn't know...

Like that April has three sisters...
And Bailey can compose herself under the most shocking of circumstances to tell a colleage the truth.
And Teddy can be the bigger woman...

As for the shooter not shooting Lexie. I think he had every intention of shooting her. He didn't let her get away. He was shot by the SWAT guy and she escaped while he was on the ground...

You're entitled to your opinion of course... but I, for one, loved the whole damn thing.

I'm not saying there weren't small moments that were good (specifically, Alex and Mark. Bacon! Everyone needs more bacon in their life.) My problem was that a lot of the small parts that you really enjoyed just didn't speak to me. Like April. I don't care about her life, so all I heard was 'blah blah' and I was like 'OMFG SHUT UP AND DIE ALREADY.' The scene with Bailey was nice, but I always knew she had it in her.

I will give props to Mer for being so composed. I know when I had bleeding during my pregnancy, I was a mess. She showed a lot of strength in that moment.

I was expecting more, which really? I really need to stop having expectations.

See, that's probably where we differ.

It's scripted television.

I have no expectations.

I know, right? You'd think I would have learned by now, especially with Shonda.

*sigh*

Well, that will learn me!
